That person that submitted talking about the velvetines. If you haven't noticed, any of LC's lip swatches are ALWAYS outside the lip line.I just think that uh... Doe didn't realize how awful the velvetines would look like that for a photo. Doe's lips aren't that large and neither are Mosh's (if she's the one being used to model). Just thought that was worth pointing out. You can see that the lipsticks go out of the lip line as well. It's always bothered me a bit.

The Velvetine Lipsticks [Lipglosses? Lipstains? Whatever the heck they are..] seem to be worse than any of the other LC products. Or, at least, have the worst photoshop/photography job. Red Velvet has a bright red ring around the lips and looks like it’s been darkened or shot with a light that was further away. As well, it seems to seep into the cracks of the lips. Maybe I’m just picky, but the middle of her front and bottom lips look shriveled up. Suedeberry is bright and clearly had a direct flash or light source. Both seem to have a bright purple line around them too. I know companies photoshop and what not, but the amount of just…varying quality really makes me question whether or not the product is actually good.

The image for Red Velvet looks like the product was either applied outside of the natural lip line which is odd. Stains tend to be drier products overall, but Suedeberry looks like it also bleed a bit in the photograph. Now that the ingridients are listed I also was concerned that the products second ingredient is dimethicone which is known to cause acne or other skin breakouts. Overall, while the colors are pretty, I think those are products I’d pass on regardless of whether Lime Crime made them or not.

Someone over at the Examiner page requested and got a quote for the mirrors LC will shortly be selling for $29.99. I realise as a business owner you must allow for a mark up but this is ridiculous. I just know they’ll be as good a quality as the ones you get in little girl’s princess sets. If it were my business, I’d sell them at $5-$8 MAX, to allow for the extra delivery/admin/min buy costs. I’d still make a profit but I wouldn’t be robbing my customers blind.

The ‘Velvetines’ look like the same kind of product as NYX Matte Lip Creams: http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/p-17-soft-matte-lip-cream.aspx

omg im hesistant to buy from lc but the suedeberry and the other matte gloss looks so tempting. i wish there was a dupe.

Sleek sells matte lip glosses and I’m sure just about any drugstore brand has a similar lip stain if you’re looking for alternatives. Also, their website is crashing a ton anyway so you’re best bet to get something ordered today and have it shipped soon is probably another website.

I just wanted to let you know that Coastal Scents (a wholesale cosmetic supplier, but I don't believe they have any minimum order requirements and anyone can order) is having a half off everything sale from now until Monday. They have a lot of cosmetic grade glitter, so if anyone is looking for dupes of the Zodiac collection, that would be a great place to start. Also, I love the new layout and hope you had a great holiday! I'm definitely thankful for all of your hard work with DDL.

Happy Thanksgiving, Admin! It's Friday here in Australia, but happy turkey day nonetheless. I've been with this blog since the beginning, and I still think it's great and that you're a fantastic admin.

Thanks, this made my night!

Dunno if anyone has mentioned this, but Geek Chic Cosmetics has some SPOT ON dupes for "No She Didn't" and "Mint to Be," and probably has some other dupes as well. Just a heads up! :)

Yeah, they seem to be a favored brand among some people here!
