Does anyone know of good dupes for Macarooned and Ribbonesque? I like the colors but the texture looks chalky and I don't want to support Lime Crime anyhow :P

For Macarooned I’d look for something similar to MAC’s Samoa Silk or NYX’s Apricot Moose depending on your undertones and how warm you want the color to be on your skin. For Ribbonesque I think NYX’s Lanikai or Iglot’s #379 eyeshadow would be good places to start for searching for dupes.

Where is the Examiner thread located?

It would help if you titled submissions posts as submissions, or used the block quote feature to indicate that it's a quoted/submitted post from somewhere/someone else.

I agree, maybe I should also just label what I write as well so there isn’t a problem with editing/approving posts via email.

I would be a little skeptical of EWG and their Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. Their efforts with the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is basically a scare mongering tactic and would make it difficult for indie brands to operate and the EWG has issues. http://chemistscorner.com/3-reasons-the-ewg-is-dubious-resource/

Are Lime Crime's products cruelty free? All the bloggers and Doe herself keep stating that they are but I remember that the red from the China Doll palette isn't. I'm just getting confused.
doedeerelies doedeerelies Said:

While LC’s final products probably aren’t tested on animals, the ingredient Red 40 Aluminum Lake  (which is in the Chinadoll palette) is ALWAYS tested on animals because they have some carcinogenic properties. MAC and Estee Lauder have recently run into problems with this as it became public that they are still using ingredients that the FDA mandates must be tested on animals in their products. My best suggestion would be to look up ingredients on EWG’s Skin Deep database to really understand what type of testing all the components of the products have to go through and whether they are required to be tested on animals.

I'll admit I missed the tiny tag that says submission. I apologise for bothering you with an answer you did not want to hear to a question you seem to be so interested in. And I'm done on that subject. As for the ethics. Every single company, especially the major ones has horrible ethics. I would not be able to buy anything at all if I was to hold everyone up to the ethical standard I'd like to. That's the fun of the Capitalist world we live in.
doedeerelies doedeerelies Said:

You don’t have to apologize for having an opinion, I’m glad you’re finished with the subject. As for ethics, regardless of whether a company is run under socialist, communist, or capitalist circumstances, it really is up to the leaders of the company to stand up for ethics in my personal opinion rather than just saying “well everyone else does it!”.

I think trolls/white knights/anti-DDL's don't understand the most important detail of this blog which is 90% of what's posted here are SUBMITTED by others and not by the mod. 2nd, probably 90-99% of content here is taken from/based on sources such as Doe's blog, LC FB page, website, and Tumblr. So it's not fair to accuse DDL and its readers of "causing" drama. It all came from Doe ever since. To be honest, there are several times when this blog has been inactive. Please think before you accuse.

I wish I could find a way to better indicate what I write versus what people submit because this has been problematic for a while. It’s also a bit difficult since some of the things said on the Examiner thread that I and other readers react to aren’t re-posted here because some of it just is straight up awful. Just another thing for me to find a better solution to.

Of course, we only live to annoy Xenia and her adoring fans! Obviously people do give a shit about Facebook popularity, otherwise Xenia of all people would be able to rise above it. I am the one that submitted the post the mod is talking about. And it seems like you missed the point which was that it seems odd that Xenia and her fans have frequently attacked Amy and those who openly dislike her for bringing even the most minor things to light. Yet when the thousands of obviously fake Likes are generating over night and are out in the open for the world to see, nobody says a word—because how can anyone disprove what she’s doing? They can’t, which is why I wrote that it’s funny how Xenia’s fans and her sock-puppets have yet to jump to her defense as they are notorious for doing.

By the way, I’m curious about something and hopefully you can provide an individual answer for my question below too rather than flooding the blog. If you didn’t like her products, would you still not “give a shit” about Xenia’s ethics? I ask because as a former Lime Crime customer, her ethics were enough for me to stop supporting Xenia financially, even though her makeup is cute but mediocre in quality at best. I don’t know about you, but I guess selective principles just aren’t my style!

I can't decide if you're pretending to be stupid to make me annoyed or you actually are that thick. YOU asked why no one's been bothered about you exposing the sudden likes on her facebook page. I answered with 'it's because no one gives a shit about facebook likes'. I wasn't 'bringing it up' I was answering your question. Don't worry I won't 'bring it up' again and you can go back to pondering about it.

Go back and re-read what you’ve submitted here and maybe you’ll understand where I’m coming from. I didn’t ask the question, someone who submitted it did, so you can direct your comments toward the original post if you’re really needing to express you opinion to the OP.

If people know about a person’s history and choose to support them anyway, that’s fine. But I just wanted to say that by buying her products, you are supporting her. So in a way, yes you’re buying her. It’s sad that Xenia’s fans are so unwilling to believe or accept the fact that she is a fraud and will defend her with illogical reasoning regardless of the evidence you throw at them. But as long as the product packaging looks cute and Xenia looks Photoshop-pretty, who cares right?
