So the following story was posted on the Examiner article today

I just found this thread through the Kandee/Doe drama. I’m not going to read all the other comments because most of them seem cray cray, but I wanted to come say a few things. Most Youtube gurus didn’t like Kandee because she seemed to exploit her single mom woes for sympathy. But she was a young mom, she PAID HER DUES for her mistakes, and I believe is genuinely sorry and a better person for it. Kandee was with her family at both the Beautylish event and IMATS, and they were all loving and supportive. The baby was very loved and cared for. Anyone who says she’s a bad mother has never met her or seen her with her children and is judging her from an isolated incident from years ago. I know I’m going to be blasted for defending her, but my opinion of her has changed, and I believe she has changed too.

All of us who thought Kandee was fake gained a newfound respect for her after this weekend. A lot of drama went down between Doe and Amy this weekend, and Doe put Kandee in an unfair position. Kandee could have been fake, but instead she handled it with grace, and in a way that shows she is ethical. If she was a famewhore like everyone says, she would have ignored what Doe did and still be friends with her for the mutual ego-stroking. But no, she did the right thing and stood by everyone that Doe f*cked over. I don’t expect everyone’s opinion of Kandee to change overnight. I can only speak for everyone at the Beautylish party who witnessed Kandee do the right thing.

Amy doesnt want the story to get out, so I’ll only explain the public parts that everyone saw. We all came to support Beautylish and Sugarpill. Doe sauntered in to the hotel alone and immediately approached the circle. She hugged Christine (Temptalia) and talked to all of us for about 20 minutes. The details aren’t clear after this because Amy was too mortified to say. From what I understand is Doe asked for Kandee’s help being friends with Amy. Kandee agreed to introduce her to Amy. Amy was mortified, Kandee figured out that Doe lied about not knowing Amy, and everyone died a little on the inside while Doe stood there kissing Amy’s ass for 15 minutes. Amy was polite but you could see the WTF on her face. Kandee apologized to Amy because she truly had no idea Doe was lying. Amy and her makeup artist left but Doe continued hanging out at the SP booth trying to get her picture taken with Amy’s friends who were watching her booth for her. This was slightly upsetting because parts of her display ended up getting stolen. We don’t know who did it and we’re not pointing fingers. But it was big on kandee’s part to apologize to Amy for something that wasn’t her fault. Amy was never mad at Kandee to begin with but it was admirable. I’m not expecting anyone to change their mind about Kandee, but all of us who previously thought she was “fake” saw her integrity. If Kandee was so fake she would continue letting Doe kiss her ass after knowing what Doe did to Amy and Christine.

Sorry for keep posting, but Kandee deserves another chance. Doe doesn’t because she only gets worse. Some of us I won’t name made it clear to Doe that we didn’t want to be friends, but it went over her head and she was incredibly persistent and creepy. She never apologized to Amy. She just stood at Amy’s booth for attention because Wire Image was there taking pictures of Youtube gurus guarding the booth. Sugarpill got the most attention as usual, and Doe wanted to be a part of it. She used both Amy and Kandee to get press photos of herself with known gurus. I don’t know if Amy left because Doe wouldn’t shut up, but if that’s why, then it’s f*cked up because Amy deserved to be in the spotlight.

Now Kandee Johnson has been the subject of some pretty harsh gossip (some of it appears to be true, IMHO) and also wrote a article about hanging out with Xenia that has since been deleted. That said, if she was being used by Xenia in this way, I’m impressed that she tried to make things right. I’m also wondering if this type of bait and switch to get closer to Amy is what Xenia tried to do with OCC Cosmetics founder David Klasfeld.
